Every semester, me and my friends tried to find some free time to go on a trip together. This time, the Lost World of Tambun in Ipoh catches our attention. After much planning and booking, we managed to find a weekend where we can all have fun and a little stress relief.
As with all our previous trip, we drive ourselves to Ipoh because it's so much easier for us to go around the city when we have our own transportation. The drive from UPM took around 3 hours time. We rent a house for three days from a home-stay company that gives cheap and affordable price for students like us. Once we arrived at the house, all of us immediately go to sleep as we were all tired and weary from the drive.
The next day, we get up early in the morning to beat the rush at Tambun ticket counter. We went to breakfast first as the food in Tambun is a little pricey. After that, we started to feel the excitement of spending the whole day inside Tambun swimming and playing around. The first place that we go to is of course, the Water Park. There's a beach and some water slides in which we all go to. There's also a place specially for kids.
Lost World of Tambun has lots of other attractions besides the Water Park. After some time swimming and playing at the Water Park, we decided to walk around the place and go to other parks there is here. As we walk around, we came across the Tiger Valley first. There's a tiger feeding show happening. The park attendants are throwing meat to the tigers and the tigers jump to catch it. It's such an amusement to see the tigers so eager to eat.
Next, we went to the Tin Valley. There, we learn a little history about tin mining that is a popular industry in Ipoh. There's life-sized 'palung', an original gravel pump monitor and an area where we get to experience 'dulang' washing. There's also description boards and a screen which displayed a video about the history of mining.
After that, we went to the Lost World Petting Zoo. I for one am very excited to go to this zoo because I love watching animals go about their habitat. There are lots of animals from almost 55 species such as rabbits, tortoise, marmoset, birds, snakes, and many more. We get to pet the animals with the help and supervision of the attendants.
Then, we decided to go back to the water. But before that, we went to the Amusement Park first. There are a number of fun and adventure rides available at the park. I didn't go to the rides as I tend to get dizzy and might vomit when riding these rides. Finally, before we go, we went to the Lost World Hot Springs and Spa. There we dip ourselves into the hot springs and unwind ourselves after almost a day of swimming and playing. The hot water felt very good.
I'm very happy that me and my friends have a chance to go to this trip. It's such a fun trip and we all get to release our stress and tension and just have quality time together. I wish we'll have another chance to go to another fun trip again.
